On August 29, the Palace “Ukraine” will host “Ty [Romantyka]” by MUR — an original historical rap musical about Ukraine’s Executed Renaissance of the 1920s–1930s.
The performance tells the story of the artists of the “Slovo” House, including Mykola Khvylovyi and Volodymyr Sosiura. Their stories are revealed through dialogue, poetry, and music, focusing on the personal choices, doubts, and lives of a generation of Ukrainian artists.
The musical combines history with a story about the creative energy of the Executed Renaissance and its presence in contemporary Ukrainian culture. The show’s tour has attracted tens of thousands of spectators and has a social and charitable component.
